Reskeon Maltese Association

Reskeon Celebrates its 25th
The Reskeon association is celebrating its 25th anniversary. It was the year 1976 when the Provincial of the Missionary Society of St Paul, here in Melbourne, Father George Xerri, sent Father Dr. Victor Shields (now in Malta) and another two members of the MSSP, to try to form a committee to start an association in the suburbs of Reservoir and Keon Park (hence the name Reskeon). After a few notices in the St Stephen's Church bulletin, a group of Maltese gathered one night and formed a committee with John Gauci being the first president.Since then the association grew from strength to strength and at present has over 350 members on its book. The committee organise social nights for its members, day outs to the beach and other activities such as a smorgasbord and the famous "fenkata".
