Molzahn to coach Marsa FC
Michael Molzahn, of Germany, was last weekend appointed new coach of Division One club Marsa. Molzahn, who spent various years at the MFA Technical Centre with the senior and U-21 national squads, will meet his new players tomorrow in a meeting at the club. Pre-season training starts this week at the Marsa Sports Ground. Molzahn will replace Albanian Ilir Pelinku who moved to Premier League club Lija Athletic this summer. The Division One league starts on September 5. Marsa face neighbours Hamrun Spartans in their opening match.


Its Getting Harder

Sir Alex Ferguson plans to field a strong side against AC Milan at the Giants Stadium after admitting that life is getting tougher in the top flight. England midfielder Paul Scholes and France defender Mikael Silvestre are likely to play their first games in the ChampionsWorld Series. Roy Keane, Ryan Giggs, Alan Smith as well as Gary and Phil Neville have also been pencilled in for the final match of the tour. United have a hectic build up to the new season.





Totti was the difference
A first half goal from captain Francesco Totti was the difference at a packed SkyDome in Toronto as AS Roma defeated Celtic 1-0 in the Champions World Series. The two Champions League qualifiers entertained a capacity crowd of 50,168 with Italian international Totti grabbing the all-important goal in the 25th minute. Gaetano D-Agostino created the opening down the right flank and his cross to the far post was headed over a leaping David Marshall by Totti. The Scottish champion was kept at bay by the Roma defence with Stephen Pearson's miss deep in to stoppage time summing up the Celtic evening. Roma boss Cesare Prandelli included Totti, Greek defender Traianos Dellas, Italian international Cristian Panucci and French midfielder Olivier Dacourt in his starting XI while Celtic began the game with the likes of Northern Ireland international Neil Lennon, top defender Bobo Balde and former England international Chris Sutton.








Owen says He will Sign A Deal
Michael Owen has revealed he is set to sign a new contract at Liverpool because he does not want to let down the club which is 'in his blood. The England striker has just a year left on his current deal but has been in negotiations to extend his stay at Anfield for some time and the signs are he will sign a new three-year agreement. 'I've been at Liverpool since I was about 11. Liverpool is in my blood and always will be, no matter what Im doing, he said.








Ijuries Hit Arsenal
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed the champions may have to start the new season without Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira and Sol Campbell. I am very concerned because these players came back from Euro 2004 much later than the others, Wenger said on Friday. Their preparation is very short. I expected them to start the season without being 100 per cent but now we could be missing all three key players. Campbell is definitely out and Thierry is a big doubt.








Australia has been beaten 3-1 by Korea Republic
